Pentecost International Worship Centre, Takoradi (PIWC Takoradi) meets at Effia Ridge, under The Church of Pentecost.
The problem
- Membership, events and giving lived on paper and in group chats.
- Visitors had no reliable place to find service times or sermons.
What we built
We built a single platform on Laravel, with an admin area for the church office. It brings together:
- Sermons. The office publishes each message, and the public site shows the latest alongside recent recordings.
- Events with QR check-in. Events go on a calendar, members can RSVP, and check-in at an event is by QR code.
- Online and offline giving. Online, a member records an offering on the site and is then shown the MTN MoMo and bank details to complete it. Offline giving is handled in the same platform.
- A member directory, with members signing in to their own records.
- SMS and push notices, so an announcement reaches members' phones directly instead of getting lost in a busy group chat.
- An app on the phone. The site installs to a phone's home screen, so members open it like an app.
The public site also carries service times, news, a prayer wall, small groups and volunteer sign-up. You can see it at piwctakoradi.org.
What changed
- The office updates the site itself. Service times, sermons and events go up without waiting on a developer.
- Members sign in to their own records instead of the office keeping them on paper.
- Every Sunday service, sermon and event is one link away, for members and for visitors finding the church for the first time.
Not only for churches
The problem PIWC Takoradi had is common to any organisation with members, events and payments: an association, a school, a club or a professional body. If your records live in notebooks and your announcements live in group chats, the same kind of platform can put them in one place your own staff can run.
